Looks like Nutcracker will be a huge holiday hit, Target Entertainment already has plans in place for a
line of merchandise and is ready to start signing up licensees. On the roster are three product lines aimed at different age groups; girls aged 4-9, boys aged 4-9 and adults, mainly women aged 35 and older. Products for girls will include things like clothing and candy and be inspired by the magic and fantasy elements of the film, products for boys will have more of an adventure theme, and the products aimed at adults will have more of a festive theme and include things like gifts and decorations. Penguin has the
english language publishing rights for a line of Nutcracker books. There will be something for everyone; a hardback storybook for younger readers, a novelization, a pop-up book, sticker and activity books, along with a picture book and read-along CD with exclusive content. Target Entertainment has signed Roman Inc. to
produce festive decorations, including seasonal ornaments, nutcrackers, 3D figurines, snowglobes, night lights and yard decor for 2008 and beyond. sounds like a real treat to me. :) These products are expected to appear in November. Last but not least, there is an
article that mentions the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Christmas tree lighting at New York's Rockefeller Center just after mentioning the promotional product line for Nutcracker. Perhaps Elle or other cast members will attend these events? Here's hoping. :)

clip from a UK news channel. Thanks Seb! You all must watch the clips because they show interviews with some of the cast and the director. Elle Fanning is especially adorable! This film could prove to be really big due to promotion of the film a complete year from the expected release.

Nutcracker that is now in post-production and is rumored to be released Christmas 2008. We believe that filming in Budapest has been wrapped or is soon to be wrapped.
